7. How Do We Amend the Constitution?

The process of amending the Constitution can be a long and arduous one, but it is not impossible.

Article V of the United States Constitution provides for amendments whenever two thirds of both Houses deem it necessary, or within the context of a constitutional convention formed upon the application of the legislatures of two-thirds of the states. Once it is ratified by three-fourths of the legislatures or constitutional conventions of the states the amendment goes into effect.
